Day 24 in the Knit You Advent Calendar 2014: Big Grey Cloud

The last day of the advent calendar! I think it's the first time December has just flown by, but now I think we are all ready to welcome Christmas. I truly hope you have enjoyed this calendar, because I've had the best time.

The last surprise is a slightly oversized tunic, warm and easy to wear. It's fastened with a zipper on back and has just the right amount of texture.

Merry merry Christmas to all!

Day 22 in the Knit You Advent Calendar 2014: Halfway Wrap

There are only a few more days left in the calendar and that's hard to believe! If December is always moving quickly, this year it seems to have gone by faster I can even realize. I've had a wonderful time so far - and I still have a few surprises under my sleeve for you!

Today it's time for a wonderful simple wrap - including everything I really love: garter stitch, stripes and short rows. Thank you, Jonna, for these beautiful photos!

knit you advent calendar 2014, day 20: vintage highway

Day 20 in the Knit You Advent Calendar 2014: Vintage Highway

I'm certain that one can not have too many everyday sweaters - well, actually too many sweaters in general! This one has every feature I love for an everyday sweater: relaxed but flattering fit, 3/4-sleeves, longer backside and some garter stitch. And it's grey! Goes with everything and anything.

Vintage Highway

Vintage Highway is a classic raglan cardigan with small details and lovely relaxed fit. The cardigan pairs garter stitch with Stockinette stitch to make the construction stand out. Worked in lovely Primo Sport with a tight gauge, just to make sure the sweater can keep up with the everyday wear it highly deserves!

Yarn: 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins of Primo Sport by The Plucky Knitter

Needles: US 4 [3.5 mm] and US 2½ [3 mm]

Finished chest circumference: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50)” [75 (85, 95, 105,

115, 125) cm] + 3” [8 cm] ease from front increases.

This one is long due! But finally it's ready for you! Quiet Days cardigan - still the same as three years ago. Three years! Now that's hard to believe, but true. And I still love it (and even more surprisingly it fits about the same!). What fun it was to take new photos of the design today. A true walk down the memory lane...

knit you advent calendar 2014, day 17: t-shirt transfer designs

Day 17 in the Knit You Advent Calendar 2014: DIY printed t-shirts

Okay, my own sweatshirts got me thinking - and this is what the thought led me to! Cute t-shirts for the little boys or girls (okay, one for big ones too!). Something every knitter loves to see, right?! If they are not wearing the actual sweaters of course...

DIY printed t-shirts - or bags or...

Note: Be careful when trying this for the first time, maybe try on some old clothes, on something you don't mind ruining if things don't go right the first time... Also follow the instructions on the transfer papers carefully!

You need:

- Plain sweatshirt/t-shirt/bag
- Printer
- Iron-on Transfer papers
- Iron
- Old newspapers
- Scissors

Follow the instructions on your transfer paper to do things right, because they may vary slightly. I had a different transfer paper this time, designed for dark fabrics, so I needed the image to be the right way (not mirrored)! I added both options for you -
